The daily country drawing game

How well do you really know the shape of the world? Landmark is a daily geography game that challenges you to draw a country from memory. You are given the name of a country and nothing else — your job is to recreate its outline as accurately as you can.

There are no maps to trace and no borders to copy. Landmark tests your mental picture of countries around the world, rewarding players who can remember coastlines, curves, borders, and distinctive shapes.

How to play

Each day’s puzzle gives you the name of a country.

Your task is to draw its outline on the canvas entirely from memory. You can draw the country at any size and place it anywhere on the canvas — what matters is how closely the shape of your drawing matches the real country.

Once you are satisfied with your drawing, submit it to receive your score.

You cannot trace the outline or look at a map while you draw. The challenge is to rely entirely on your own knowledge of the country’s shape.

Accuracy, not size

Your Landmark score is based on how accurately your silhouette matches the actual country, rather than how large your drawing is or where you placed it on the canvas.

Your drawing is normalized for comparison, allowing you to focus purely on the shape. A small but accurate drawing can therefore score just as well as a large one.

The closer your outline matches the real country’s silhouette, the higher your score.

Aim for 100

Every drawing receives a score from 0 to 100 based on its similarity to the real country.

Your daily medal targets are:

  • 80 or higher — Gold
  • 65 or higher — Silver
  • 50 or higher — Bronze

A high score means you have a strong mental map of the country. Getting close to 100 requires remembering more than just the general shape — small bends, extensions, peninsulas, and distinctive coastline features can all make a difference.

Test your geography memory

Landmark is less about recognizing a country and more about remembering it visually.

You might know exactly where a country is on a map, but drawing its silhouette from memory is a very different challenge. Regular play can help you become more familiar with the shapes of countries around the world and expose the ones you only recognize when you see them.

Every new country gives you another opportunity to test your geographical memory.

One drawing every day

There is one Landmark challenge each day, with everyone receiving the same country to draw.

You can submit your drawing once per day, so there is no opportunity to redraw it after seeing your score. Make your best attempt, see how closely your memory matches reality, and come back tomorrow for another country.

Over time, your scores become a record of how accurately you can visualize the world.

Why play Landmark?

Landmark turns world geography into a creative memory challenge. Instead of identifying a country from a flag, outline, or capital, you have to produce the outline yourself.

It is quick to play, easy to understand, and surprisingly difficult to master. The countries you think you know best can still produce unexpected scores.
